Mercure Townsville, (07) 47594900 Townsville 4810

General Manager – Peter Richardson

I have been with Accor for 10 yrs and at Mercure Townsville for 5 yrs. I love working with and seeing the team grow and how the team has grown with the refurbishments. I am New Zealander who still is rugby mad and coaches my kids to go Kunmati, Kumati, Aussie, Aussie for every All Blacks vs Australia Rugby game. I am also a mad keen runner who wants to run up Walsh's Pyramid and do a ultra endurance run in 2011. I love cycling, mountain biking and tramping over hills & mountains. Musically I am a rock tragic from the 70's.

Events Coordinator – Margaret Cotton

My role at the Mercure Townsville is the Events and Wedding Co-ordinator. The role is challenging, demanding and I love it. Having worked in many different states and venues the Mercure Townsville has had the most potential to grow and still does. It is an oasis in the middle of suburban life

Executive Housekeeper – Noeleen McDonald

I have been employed at Mercure for over 20 years. I am now the Executive Housekeeper. The number of staff in my department varies from 23 at the moment to around 28 in peak season.
The reason I like working at Mercure is that it has the feel of an Island resort, as you can hardly hear the traffic when walking around the room blocks. Also we have a great group of people to work with.

Maintenance Manager – Paul Gilbert

I am married to the gorgeous Julie with two beautiful children Brooklyn 5 and Kaden 4. I have been in hotel maintenance for 21+ years and still love seeing the improvements occur. I came to the Mercure Townsville after being sold the dream of growth and change by Peter, and have seen a huge amount of both. The hotel has its unique challenges that come with an old property in tropical north Queensland and I enjoy the way the guys in the maintenance team rally together to overcome all that confronts them using all the Accor values mixed with humour.
